The Turkmen-American Business Forum was held in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. It was attended by heads and representatives of relevant state and business structures of the two countries. This was reported by the International Information Center of Turkmenistan.
At the forum, the Turkmen side was led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguly Atagulyev. The US delegation was led by the Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-US Business Council, Eric Stewart.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as outlined plans for the near future.
It was noted that leading American companies have been successfully operating in strategically important sectors of Turkmenistan's economy for many years. At the same time, the high interest of the US business community in deepening effective bilateral cooperation was confirmed. The energy sector, transport and communications, the agro-industrial complex, and the high-tech sector were named among the priority areas of partnership.
Prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas, industrial, and transport-communication sectors, as well as in the electric power industry, financial and banking sector, trade, agriculture, and ecology, were brought up for discussion.
