Five-month development indicators of the country summarized at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

On June 5, a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers was held via a digital system under the chairmanship of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. It summarized the results of the work carried out in the country during the first five months of 2026 and defined the important tasks ahead. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The meeting noted the brief information from the Speaker of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova on legislative activities and heard the report from Vice-Prime Minister H. Geldimyradov on macroeconomic indicators. During the reporting period, Gross Domestic Product growth remained stable at 6.3%. By sector, the growth rate was 2.6% in industry, 6.4% in construction, 10.2% in transport and communications, and 7.9% in trade.
Vice-Prime Ministers G. Agajanov, B. Annamammedov, and N. Atagulyyev reported on the performance of the oil and gas, construction-industrial, and trade complexes. Plans for oil and gas extraction and fuel product manufacturing in the country were overfulfilled. In the construction and industrial sectors, the plan was implemented by 130.1%, and work continued on supplying the domestic market with goods and improving the quality of textile products.
Vice-Prime Minister T. Atahallyyev provided information on the situation in agriculture and environmental protection. The grain harvest began in an organized manner in the Ahal, Lebap, and Mary velayats of the country, while full preparations were made in the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats to start the harvest on June 10. Agrotechnical works are being systematically carried out in cotton fields and other crop areas.
Vice-Prime Ministers B. Seyidova and B. Mammedov reported on the cultural-humanitarian sphere, science, education, healthcare, and sports sectors. Various cultural events were organized during the reporting period to mark glorious dates. Turkmen schoolchildren and students won 871 medals in international competitions, and our athletes secured 301 medals in international tournaments. New strategies for the development of scientific and medical diplomacy were also approved.
Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov and Vice-Prime Minister in charge of the transport and communication complex B. Annayev characterized the indicators in their respective fields as stable. Over the five-month period, important foreign visits of the Hero-Arkadag and the Head of State were organized, and a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government was held in Ashgabat. The growth rate of services in the transport and communication complex reached 114.2%.
Concluding the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan addressed the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, noting that sustainable growth is being ensured in all sectors of the national economy, and that the construction of industrial and social facilities continues at a rapid pace, and gave specific instructions.
