Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan discuss an establishment of new forms of cooperation in the sphere of culture

On June 5, 2026, a meeting was held between a Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and a Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, who is currently visiting our country. This was reported by a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The interlocutors discussed current issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the further expansion of cooperation between cultural institutions, museums, libraries, creative collectives, and specialized educational organizations.
In this context, the parties noted the significance of the ongoing Days of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan as an important factor in bringing the peoples of the two countries closer together. The Days of Culture are being held in Ashgabat and Arkadag over a period of three days.
Furthermore, the sides emphasized the importance of implementing joint cultural projects, holding exhibitions, and organizing other events aimed at popularizing the rich historical and cultural heritage of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. The importance of intensifying contacts between representatives of the creative intelligentsia of the two countries was also highlighted.
Additionally, an exchange of views took place on the further development of bilateral cooperation within the framework of international organizations and cultural platforms, as well as the establishment of new forms of interaction aimed at deepening the Turkmen-Azerbaijani cultural and humanitarian partnership.
