Turkmenistan participated in the meeting of Central Asian Trade Unions in Geneva
On the sidelines of the 114th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, a meeting was held between the chairpersons of the national trade union centers of Central Asian countries and representatives of the Bureau for Workers' Activities of the International Labour Organization (ACTRAV). This was reported by a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues regarding the development of the trade union movement, the strengthening of social dialogue, and the further expansion of cooperation between the region's trade union organizations. The participants also exchanged information on the events planned for the current year. Particular attention was paid to the upcoming meeting of the chairpersons of trade unions of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan, as well as a scientific and practical conference, both of which will be held in Ashgabat in November of this year. Additionally, on June 4, on the sidelines of the 114th session of the International Labour Conference, a meeting took place between Oguljennet Berdiyeva, the Chairperson of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, and Satybaldy Dauletalin, the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the talks, the sides discussed prospects for developing cooperation between the trade union organizations of the two countries, issues concerning the protection of workers' labor rights, the strengthening of social partnership, and the expansion of interaction between the national trade union centers. The Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan invited Berdiyeva to visit Kazakhstan to hold a bilateral meeting and sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the national trade union centers of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. The Turkmen side also received an invitation to participate in a regional trade union conference to be held in Almaty.
