Turkmenistan Aims to Expand Practical Cooperation with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization

On June 8, 2026, a Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), Dr. Robert Floyd. This was reported by a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, as well as topical issues on the international agenda in the fields of disarmament, arms control, and the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
The sides noted the significance of further strengthening international cooperation to ensure global peace, security, and sustainable development.
During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on expanding practical interaction between Turkmenistan and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, including the training of national specialists, participation in relevant programs, and the development of expert cooperation.
Following the talks, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing the constructive partnership and continuing a regular dialogue on issues of common concern.
