On June 8, 2026, a Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a meeting with the US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, Sarah Rogers, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. This was reported by a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties emphasized the active and productive nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields.

The diplomats paid special attention to the Turkmen-American partnership in the areas of education, science, culture, and the digitalization of key economic sectors. It was noted that within the framework of the reached agreements, Turkmenistan participates in more than 15 US educational programs. Cooperation has also been established between relevant higher education institutions of the two countries.

In the context of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the possibilities of organizing joint projects were reviewed, and the successful implementation of the «Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation» program, which has been carried out in Turkmenistan for 25 years, was highlighted.

Special attention was given to interaction in the fields of media, public relations, and public diplomacy, including the development of professional contacts, the exchange of experience, and the implementation of joint projects.
