Turkmenistan addressed the session of the Preparatory Commission of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization in Vienna

A delegation of Turkmenistan, led by Director of the Institute of Seismology and Atmospheric Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Guljemal Charyeva, is participating in the 66th session of the Preparatory Commission of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), held in Vienna from June 15 to 17, 2026. This was reported by a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

In its statement, Turkmenistan reaffirmed its firm commitment to the goals and principles of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), noting in particular the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Treaty for signature, as well as the 30th anniversary of the country's accession to it.

The statement highlighted Turkmenistan's active cooperation with the CTBTO, including the operation of the International Monitoring System seismic station PS44 «Alibek» and ongoing efforts to strengthen national capacity in the field of monitoring and verification.

Turkmenistan confirmed its readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the CTBTO and contribute to international peace and security, as well as to enhancing the effectiveness of the global verification regime.
