Turkmenistan presented the country's foreign policy course at a Conference in Shusha

On June 15, 2026, a delegation of Turkmenistan participated in an international conference on the theme «Regional Contribution to Global Security: Peacebuilding in the South Caucasus», held in the city of Shusha of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported by a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Gurbanmammet Elyasov noted that the foreign policy course of independent neutral Turkmenistan, based on the principles of peacefulness, constructive dialogue, mutual trust and equal international cooperation, is in harmony with Azerbaijan's efforts aimed at transforming the South Caucasus into a region of peace, stability and sustainable development.

Special attention was given to the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to declare 2028 the Year of International Law, reflecting Turkmenistan's commitment to strengthening the rule of law and developing international cooperation.

Forum participants emphasized the need for further consolidation of international community efforts to strengthen an atmosphere of trust, good-neighborliness and constructive interaction, and confirmed the importance of jointly advancing initiatives conducive to sustainable peace and stable development of regions.
