On June 17, a meeting was held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan Ji Shumin. During the meeting, the parties analyzed broad opportunities for further development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. This was reported by a press service of the legislative body of Turkmenistan.
During the talks, it was noted that thanks to the policy pursued by the Heads of the two states, Turkmen-Chinese friendly relations are developing at a high level in all areas, particularly in the inter-parliamentary system. At the meeting, it was especially emphasized that the mutual cooperation of national parliaments is gaining new substance and serves as an essential tool for providing legislative support to joint strategic projects.
The parties also exchanged views on a new project to be organized by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the PRC. This training seminar, designed for parliamentarians of Central Asian countries, will aim to enhance the role of legislative bodies and strengthen cooperation within the «China — Central Asia» format.
Confidence was expressed that the planned training sessions would be an important step in exchanging experience in the legislative sphere, deepening mutual understanding, and further strengthening multilateral partnership.
