Turkmenistan and Malaysia sign package of bilateral documents

On June 19, talks were held in Ashgabat between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim. Upon the conclusion of the talks, a signing and exchange ceremony of bilateral documents took place. This was reported by the online newspaper "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."

Among the documents exchanged by the parties are: a Memorandum of Understanding between the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Academy of Sciences of Malaysia; a Memorandum of Understanding between the State Service "Türkmenhowaýollary" and the Ministry of Transport of Malaysia; an Agreement on Air Services between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Malaysia; a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Malaysia in the field of diplomat training and cooperation on scientific exchange.

The following signed documents were also announced: an Agreement between the Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan and Tenaga National University on student exchange and a mobility program; an Agreement between the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute and Tenaga National University on student exchange and a mobility program; an Agreement between the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and Tenaga National University on student exchange and a mobility program.

Then, to the applause of the ceremony participants, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim affixed their signatures to the Joint Statement between Turkmenistan and Malaysia on the results of the official visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Turkmenistan.

The document notes that during the talks held today, a wide range of bilateral, regional, and international issues was examined. At the same time, it confirms the commitment of the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Malaysia to the further development of interstate cooperation on a bilateral basis, within the framework of regional and international organizations. The statement also covers the outcomes of the visit of the Malaysian delegation to our country.
