On June 20, Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular digital meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. During the meeting, important issues of state life were reviewed, and reports on the work being carried out in various sectors of the country were heard. Information was presented on the work being carried out by the Mejlis to modernize the national legislation. Currently, in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the norms of international law, draft laws are being prepared to introduce amendments and additions to the Criminal, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Executive, Arbitration Procedure, and Civil Procedure Codes. The Head of State noted the importance of consistently continuing efforts to improve the country's legislative base.
A report was delivered on the measures being taken to introduce digital technologies into the banking system and modernize its operations. In accordance with the Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy for 2026–2028, it is planned to introduce electronic services and new software at the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs. The Honorable President supported the proposal to strengthen the material and technical base of this institution and gave relevant instructions.
Effective steps are being taken in the oil and gas sector to expand cooperation with major foreign companies. By the Decree of the Head of State, the "Turkmennebit" State Concern was authorized to conclude a contract between the Malaysian company Petronas Carigali and the "Hazarnebit" state enterprise for the development of contractual areas in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. In addition, a proposal by the "Turkmengeologiya" State Corporation to introduce advanced international practices to increase the efficiency of geological exploration and drilling operations was approved.
Seasonal work in the agricultural complex continues in an organized manner. Currently, necessary measures are being taken to complete the grain harvest in a short time and to ensure timely payments to the producers. Agrotechnical care is carried out comprehensively in cotton fields, while the sowing of rice and sugar beets, as well as the harvesting of vegetable and melon crops, are being organized. The Head of State instructed to keep the harvest progress and cotton care under constant control.
New projects are also being implemented in the chemical and textile industries. The proposal of the "Turkmenhimiya" State Concern to create modern facilities based on local raw materials to produce various types of eco-friendly salts competitive on the world market was supported. Along with this, the submitted plan to develop national carpet weaving and improve production at the "Argach" spinning factory of the "Turkmenhaly" State Association was approved.
In the cultural sphere, great preparations are underway for the landmark events of 2026 and the activities to be held in July. Next month, it is planned to organize celebrations promoting applied arts, embroidery, and crafts, tours to historical monuments, as well as the final stages of the "Ýaňlan, Diýarym!" and "Gülüň owadan" creative contests. The Head of State instructed to ensure a high organizational level for these events.
In order to improve the healthcare system, drafts of the National Program "Healthy Mother – Healthy Child – Healthy Future" for 2026–2030 and the Action Plan for its implementation were prepared. The Honorable President signed this document aimed at protecting the health of mothers and children and preventing diseases, and instructed to carry out the relevant work.
In foreign policy, special attention is paid to strengthening Turkmenistan's good-neighborly relations with neighboring states. During the meeting, a report was presented on the preparations for the upcoming state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan. Cooperation in political, economic, and cultural spheres is actively developing between the two nations. The Head of State instructed to thoroughly prepare for this visit, which will bring relations between the two brotherly countries to a new level.
In the transport sector, new measures will be implemented to increase the transit and transport capacity of the country's railways, satisfy the growing demand for the transportation of oil products, and develop freight turnover. The Honorable President approved the proposal prepared in this direction and instructed to strengthen the material and technical base of the sector.
At the conclusion of the Cabinet of Ministers meeting, several other important issues of state life were reviewed, and appropriate decisions were adopted. The Head of State concluded the meeting by extending his best wishes to the participants and the people of the nation.
