Chaired by Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers was held via a digital system. During the meeting, along with priority issues of state life, the results of work on improving the national legislative base were reviewed. As reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age", Chairperson of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova provided information on the parliament's current activities in this direction.
According to the information provided, draft laws aligned with the provisions of the Basic Law and the norms of international law are being developed to provide legal support for the country's accession to international documents. Furthermore, to strengthen the protection of human rights and the legal interests of society and the state, modern amendments are being introduced to several codes of Turkmenistan, including the Criminal, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Executive, Arbitration Procedure, and Civil Procedure Codes.
In addition, the steps taken towards developing the international cooperation of the Mejlis were highlighted. Specifically, it was noted that the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to Turkmenistan were accepted. Members of parliament also enhanced their experience by participating in training seminars and meetings jointly organized by UN agencies and relevant state institutions of the country.
Having heard the report, Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the great importance of the ongoing work to bring the country's legal system and legislation into line with the demands of the time, and noted the need to consistently continue measures in this direction.
