Culture Week 2026: Art and Poetry on Balkan Soil

The second day of the Culture Week, which kicked off in the country's western region, was packed with a diverse range of events, as reported by the online newspaper Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

In the morning, the Kizylarvat Etrap Cultural Center of the Balkan Velayat hosted a musical and creative meeting titled "Hatyrasy belent halypalar." Participants highlighted the special contribution of outstanding masters of art and creative figures—who left an indelible mark on the history of the country—to the further enrichment and development of national culture.

Concurrently, a conference titled "Modern Teaching Methodologies Utilizing Digital System Capabilities" took place at the Cultural and Sports Complex of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries of the "Turkmennebit" State Concern.

As noted, in accordance with the "Concept for the Development of the Digital Education System in Turkmenistan," modern teaching methods and new disciplines that meet contemporary standards are being introduced across all educational institutions in the country, including higher education venues. This initiative supports the training of highly qualified specialists essential for the branches of the national economy.

In the afternoon, the Balkan velayat Library hosted a solemn award ceremony concluding the creative competition "Garaşsyzlykdan galkynýan medeniýet," along with a poetry evening by renowned young poets of the country entitled "Ylham joşguny."

The winners of the respective competitions were honored with special awards. The most outstanding participants competed for the Grand Prix, as well as first, second, and third places. The official award ceremony added to the overall significance of the event.

Participants of the Culture Week also witnessed another remarkable event: a concert featuring master artists from the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats. The performance took place in an atmosphere of great spiritual uplift at the Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Palace of Culture for Oil Workers in the city of Balkanabat.
