The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, on June 26 at a government meeting, reported on the ongoing work to develop cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This was reported by the electronic newspaper Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
As reported, within the framework of preparations for the visit of the head of this organization to our country in the coming month, a working meeting was held with the participation of the heads of relevant domestic ministries and sectoral departments, as well as the head of the EBRD representative office in Turkmenistan. The subject of discussion was the development of draft documents planned for signing within the framework of this visit.
As the Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs reported, for the purpose of further developing bilateral cooperation, corresponding documents have been prepared in such key areas of strategic partnership as the fuel and energy and transport sectors, ecology, and the financial and banking sphere.
Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that our country attaches special importance to strengthening relations with authoritative financial institutions and international banks. Turkmenistan has been successfully cooperating with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for many years, the Head of State emphasized, instructing the Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs to continue work on developing productive cooperation.
