On June 26, within the framework of the sessions of the Council of the World Customs Organization (WCO) taking place in Brussels, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Secretary General of the WCO. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Belgium also took part in the meeting. This was reported on the website of the Turkmen customs.
Key attention during the meeting was paid to the issues of training highly qualified personnel, as well as the further development of the WCO Regional Training Center in Turkmenistan. Significant practical results of the ongoing joint educational programs were noted, within the framework of which Turkmen specialists for 2025-2026 successfully completed long-term training in the areas of risk management, time release measurement of goods, as well as specialized courses on data analytics and digitalization of customs processes.
In order to further increase the professional level of the personnel potential of the customs service of Turkmenistan, interest was confirmed in the participation of representatives of the department in the Career Development Programme of the World Customs Organization for 2026-2027, including undergoing short-term internships.
Following the results of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual commitment to the further deepening of the strategic partnership, the introduction of advanced digital solutions, and the consistent integration of international standards into the national customs system.
