The Turkmenistan rally raid championship was held from June 27 to 28, 2026, across the territory of the Dashoguz and Akhal velayats. The two-day race, covering a total distance of 358 kilometers, ran through some of the most challenging sections of the Karakum desert. This was reported by the online newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."
The competition route was divided into two stages: the first speed section covered 181.32 km, while the second stage covered 61.43 km.
The competition was contested by crews representing the country's Automobile Sports Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Automobile Transport of Turkmenistan. After two days of intense competition, the winners and prize-winners of the championship were determined in the overall standings.
The best result was shown by Bayram Annagulyev, an athlete from the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, who completed the course in a Nissan Patrol in 3 hours, 39 minutes, and 56 seconds, claiming first place.
Second place went to Merdan Toylyev, a representative of the Ministry of Automobile Transport, driving a Nissan Patrol with a final time of 3 hours, 46 minutes, and 1 second.
Rounding out the top three was Charyyar Charyyarov, an officer of the Akhal velayat police department, who finished in a Toyota Hilux with a result of exactly 4 hours and 2 minutes.
