On June 30, a meeting took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, who is concluding his mission in Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, current issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations system were discussed, as well as prospects for the further development of constructive cooperation within the framework of implementing common sustainable development goals.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted the significant contribution of UN Resident Coordinator Dmitry Shlapachenko to strengthening the partnership relations between Turkmenistan and the UN system, as well as to facilitating the implementation of joint programs and projects aimed at socio-economic development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, wished him success in his further professional activities, and expressed confidence that his future work would continue to contribute to the development of international cooperation.
It was emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing multifaceted cooperation with the UN, regarding the UN as a key international partner on matters of peace, security, and sustainable development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dmitry Shlapachenko expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the assistance and support provided during the period of carrying out his mission in the country.
