On June 30, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova and Pavlo Bilyk, Regional Advisor on the Universal Periodic Review of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as interaction within the framework of the Universal Periodic Review mechanism.
It was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to constructive partnership with the OHCHR and regards the Universal Periodic Review as an effective international mechanism for further improving state policy in the field of human rights.
The parties emphasized the importance of continuing joint work aimed at developing an inclusive society, ensuring equal opportunities, and strengthening international cooperation in the field of human rights protection.
During the meeting, mutual interest was expressed in further expanding cooperation, including the exchange of experience, expert support, and the implementation of joint initiatives within the framework of cooperation with the UN.
