President of Turkmenistan Holds Meeting of State Security Council

President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held a meeting of the State Security Council on July 1, at which the results of the work of the military and law enforcement agencies over the six months of the current year were summed up. Also on the agenda were issues of ensuring security and stability in the country, strengthening the material and technical base of the security agencies, and further improving their activities. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."

The heads of the military and law enforcement departments presented reports on work to strengthen the country's defense capability, the results of the latest conscription campaign, steps to maintain public order, compliance with fire safety rules, strengthening the material and technical base of border units, improving service and living conditions for military personnel, and measures to optimize customs procedures through the introduction of advanced technologies.

Having heard the reports, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the need for further modernization of the country's Armed Forces and for ensuring a high level of the military parade in honor of Turkmenistan's Independence Day. In addition, the head of state gave a number of instructions on ensuring reliable control over summer fire safety, strengthening the country's borders, as well as raising the level and standards of service provision in the customs and migration spheres.

At the meeting of the State Security Council, a number of other issues were considered, on which corresponding decisions were adopted.
