The activities of the National Parliament of Turkmenistan are being improved in accordance with international standards

On July 3, a regular meeting of the Government was held via digital videoconferencing under the leadership of Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov. During the meeting, Chairperson of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova briefed on the progress of work being carried out to improve the country's legislative framework. This was reported by the electronic newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden Age».

Currently, based on the priority areas of our state and international experience, new draft laws are being prepared on the state registration of rights to real estate and on legal support for international treaties. Consistent work is also underway to introduce modern amendments and additions to several existing codes and legislative acts.

Furthermore, with the aim of exchanging experience in the lawmaking field, Turkmen parliamentarians paid official visits to the People's Republic of China and Austria. They participated in a training seminar organized by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the PRC and in a special meeting organized by the OSCE. In addition, representatives of the national parliament discussed issues of developing bilateral cooperation at meetings organized on the initiative of the representations of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the European Union in Turkmenistan.

After listening to the report, the Head of State highlighted the crucial importance of further strengthening the country's legal foundation and consistently improving legislative activity in line with international standards, instructing to actively continue efforts in this direction.
