National Leader of the Turkmen People Visits Iran

National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag paid a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, during which meetings took place with President of the IRI Masoud Pezeshkian and Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Hero-Arkadag was seen off by officials at the capital's International Airport.

At Mehrabad International Airport, where the state flags of the two countries were raised on flagpoles, Hero-Arkadag was warmly welcomed by First Vice President of the IRI Mohammad Reza Aref and other officials.

A Guard of Honor was lined up in honor of the distinguished guest.

From the airport, the motorcade of the National Leader of the Turkmen People proceeded to the Sarvestan Palace of the Saadabad Complex, where talks were held between Hero-Arkadag and President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Warmly welcoming the distinguished Turkmen guest, President Masoud Pezeshkian noted that Iran attaches great importance to expanding multi-vector cooperation with neighboring Turkmenistan. Speaking on this, the President of the IRI expressed confidence that the current visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen People would give new impetus to bilateral relations.

Thanking his hosts for their hospitality, Hero-Arkadag noted with satisfaction the high level of interstate dialogue based on the principles of good-neighborliness and mutual respect. Taking the opportunity, the National Leader of the Turkmen People conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Masoud Pezeshkian from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Sending reciprocal good wishes to the Head of Turkmenistan, the President of Iran emphasized the diverse and dynamic nature of the long-standing bilateral partnership.

As noted during the meeting, expanding and strengthening relations with close neighbors is a key vector of Turkmenistan's foreign policy, based on the principles of positive neutrality, good-neighborliness and broad international cooperation.

Our countries and peoples are linked by long-established relations of good-neighborliness, based on unwavering goodwill, which contribute to expanding trust-based, equal cooperation. Speaking on this, the interlocutors expressed confidence that the current meeting would serve as a reliable foundation for the consistent strengthening of the Turkmen-Iranian partnership.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag, and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, having confirmed their readiness to make joint efforts for the further development of friendly and fraternal relations between the two states across a wide range of areas in the interests of the Turkmen and Iranian peoples, exchanged best wishes.

During the visit, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag, also met with the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the IRI, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

As part of the visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag, at the request of the Iranian side, answered questions from Seyyed Mohsen Hosseini, a journalist with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Corporation (IRIB).

During the conversation, it was noted that Turkmen-Iranian relations, which are an example of good-neighborliness, mutual respect and equal partnership, are currently developing steadily in various directions. The two fraternal peoples, who have lived side by side for centuries and are bound by ties of friendship, are united by common cultural and spiritual values, which serves as a solid foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.

Thus, the conversation between Hero-Arkadag and a journalist from a major Iranian television channel testifies to the significant interest of leading world media outlets in the foreign policy pursued by Turkmenistan.

This is clear confirmation of the steady growth of our country's authority on the international stage.

The National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag, then went to the Mosalla Imam Khomeini mosque — the venue of the funeral ceremony.

Here, a farewell ceremony was held for the late Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

At the mosque, Hero-Arkadag was received by First Vice President of the IRI Mohammad Reza Aref and other officials.

The Guard of Honor company performed the official melody.

Verses from the Holy Quran were then recited.

Paying tribute to the late Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and members of his family, Hero-Arkadag offered prayers to the Almighty for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as on his own behalf and on behalf of the entire Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag expressed sincere condolences and words of support to President of the IRI Masoud Pezeshkian and other senior officials on this mournful day.

Hero-Arkadag then made an entry in the special book of condolences.
