Turkmenistan and the Netherlands expand strategic partnership in the field of shipbuilding

On July 6, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan Sapar Palvanov visited the headquarters of the Dutch company "Damen Shipyards" — one of the world's leading shipbuilding enterprises. During the visit, he met with the management of the company and familiarized himself with the production complex of modern vessels for various purposes. This is reported on the official website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Belgium (Brussels).

During the negotiations, the parties discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and the "Damen" company. In particular, special attention was paid to the issue of joint construction of vessels on the basis of the "Balkan" Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard OJSC, located on the territory of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport. The parties also exchanged views on further strengthening the long-term successful cooperation in the field of dredging operations.

Ambassador Sapar Palvanov emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the modernization of maritime infrastructure and the strengthening of logistical ties. For this reason, partnership with major Dutch companies in terms of attracting advanced world experience and technologies is considered a strategic direction. At the meeting, an initiative was also put forward to organize a joint business forum with the participation of Dutch entrepreneurs showing interest in the Turkmen market.
