On July 7th, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, met with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, who arrived in our country on a visit.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet and for the hospitality shown on Turkmen soil, Mikayil Jabbarov noted that Azerbaijan highly values the level of development of interstate relations in various directions, and also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Hero-Arkadag from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
The guest emphasized that during each visit to our country, he witnesses the rapid socio-economic development of Turkmenistan, and expressed sincere admiration for the architectural appearance of the capital.
Thanking him for his kind words, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, in turn expressed his very best wishes to the President of Azerbaijan and noted the importance of the steadily deepening cooperation between the two friendly states.
The National Leader of the Turkmen People noted that ties between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, as neighboring countries, are developing on the basis of traditional principles of mutual respect. At present, they are being consistently expanded.
In this connection, it was emphasized that the high-level talks held during the visits of the Hero-Arkadag to Azerbaijan opened an important page in the history of Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations.
As was noted during the meeting, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening friendly, brotherly, and good-neighborly ties with the Republic of Azerbaijan. Our countries are united by common historical and cultural traditions, mutual respect, and closeness of spiritual values.
Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan successfully cooperate both bilaterally and multilaterally, including within the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN.
Regular dialogue at a high state level, giving impetus to the deepening of relations between the two countries, creates favorable conditions for effective cooperation.
In this context, Hero-Arkadag noted the significance of the recent state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Azerbaijan, and, taking the opportunity, once again expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the vessel "Dostluk," presented as a gift to the Turkmen people.
Cultural and humanitarian dialogue occupies an important place on the agenda of Turkmen-Azerbaijani cooperation. In this regard, mention was made of the high-level Days of Culture of Turkmenistan held in the cities of Baku and Ganja, as well as the Days of Culture of Azerbaijan held in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, and the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, expressing confidence in the further strengthening of interstate relations, exchanged wishes of good health, happiness, and further success in their work.
