President of Turkmenistan receives Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan

On July 8, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov. This is reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the Azerbaijani delegation, Mikayil Jabbarov noted that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the development of relations with Turkmenistan and, taking the opportunity, conveyed to the Head of State warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

The guest particularly emphasized the importance of regular high-level dialogue in the development of interstate relations, noting that the recent state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Azerbaijan opened a new page in bilateral cooperation.

Thanking him for his kind words, the Head of State conveyed reciprocal best wishes to the leader of the friendly country and expressed confidence that the guest's current visit would become a significant contribution to further strengthening trade and economic ties and would give new impetus to the development of mutually beneficial partnership.

Arkadagly Hero-Serdar also wished success for the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation, which will contribute to the implementation of previously reached agreements and the expansion of bilateral interaction.

As noted during the meeting, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to expanding multifaceted dialogue with the Republic of Azerbaijan. The two countries and peoples are bound by relations of friendship and good-neighborliness, based on mutual trust and respect.

Cooperation between the two states is currently developing successfully in all directions. Political dialogue is being consistently strengthened, trade and economic ties are expanding, and joint large-scale projects are being implemented.

The importance of the upcoming Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, to be held in Turkmenistan this year and intended to promote the development of regional cooperation, was also emphasized. It was noted that holding this summit during Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States would be of particular significance.

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the recent state visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan became an important stage in the development of bilateral relations, and that the summit-level talks held within its framework opened new opportunities for further strengthening cooperation in various directions.

The interlocutors noted the key role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission in realizing economic potential. This commission serves as a coordinating instrument, contributing to the diversification of ties in the fields of trade, logistics, science and technology, as well as in other priority areas.

The importance of the effective use of the advantageous geographical position of the two countries was also emphasized, which opens broad opportunities for intensifying cooperation in the energy sector, developing international transport and transit corridors, improving logistics routes, and implementing joint projects of international significance.

The cultural and humanitarian sphere is another integral part of interstate relations. In this regard, the need for further expansion of ties in the fields of science, education and culture was noted, as these serve as a solid foundation for strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between our peoples.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, expressing confidence that the traditional friendly Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations will continue to develop successfully across a wide range of areas, exchanged best wishes for each other and for the fraternal peoples of both countries.
