On July 14, a series of important diplomatic meetings took place in Jakarta with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov. During talks with the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Kao Kim Hourn, the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation in transport, energy, trade, and digital sectors, as well as interaction on climate change and food security. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Additionally, during the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, special attention was paid to activating direct contacts between the business communities and chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, as well as organizing joint exhibitions and business forums.

A key event of the visit was the holding of the first-ever political consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Indonesia. During the talks with the Indonesian delegation, led by the Deputy Minister for Asia-Pacific and African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Santo Darmosumarto, the parties agreed to intensify political contacts, including the organization of mutual visits at various levels and the development of inter-parliamentary ties.

The diplomats confirmed their commitment to mutual support within international organizations and discussed in detail the initiative to establish the «Central Asia + ASEAN» dialogue format. At the conclusion of the meetings, the sides confirmed their mutual readiness to comprehensively develop mutually beneficial partnership.
