Turkmenistan and the Eastern Committee of German Economy Outline New Directions for Partnership

On July 15, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Mahri Bashimova, and the Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of German Economy, Michael Harms. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the constructive exchange of views, the sides highly praised the traditionally friendly bilateral dialogue and focused on practical steps to boost trade and economic cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on integrating Germany's advanced technological solutions into the modernization of Turkmenistan's industrial sector, as well as on the possibilities of implementing joint projects in traditional energy, the introduction of renewable energy sources, and sustainable water resources management.

Additionally, the sides discussed Turkmenistan’s potential as a major transport and logistics hub, alongside the prospects of engaging German financial institutions to provide investment support for the planned programs. At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to the progressive deepening of business contacts.
