The Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan has decreed to convene a meeting of the country's highest representative body on September 23, 2026. The forum will be held in Ashgabat at the «Maslahat köşgi» Palace, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

The document notes that the meeting is convened to further develop national democratic principles, ensure the broad participation of public representatives in resolving key issues of state and public life, and strengthen the unity of society.

Furthermore, the halk maslahaty of the velayats and the city of Ashgabat are instructed to submit the lists of public representatives recommended for inclusion in the highest representative body to the Apparatus of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan by September 1, 2026. The selection will be conducted in accordance with the approved procedure for nominating representatives from the velayats, as well as the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag.
