On July 20, at the initiative of the Russian side, a telephone conversation took place between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. The heads of the diplomatic agencies discussed current issues on the agenda of Turkmen-Russian relations, the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to further strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. The sides emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to promote joint educational and cultural projects. The diplomats also touched upon upcoming contacts, including multilateral events at the highest and high levels, scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan in October 2026.
