A delegation from the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated in a World Trade Organization (WTO) training seminar held from July 5 to 21 in the cities of Beijing, Fuxin, and Fuzhou in the People's Republic of China. Organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the event took place at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, as reported by the press service of the legislative body of Turkmenistan.

The main purpose of the seminar was to advance the tasks regarding Turkmenistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization, exchange expertise in international trade, and enhance the qualifications of specialists from relevant agencies. During the forum, participants gained detailed insights into China's experience in joining the WTO, safeguarding its national interests within the organization, and utilizing modern management practices for free economic zones.

In line with the seminar's program, participants discussed aligning national legislation with international trade rules and WTO agreements. Views were also exchanged on implementing the duties facing the Parliament and strengthening the role of parliamentary diplomacy in this field.

The seminar proved to be of great significance for developing Turkmenistan's international trade and economic relations, refining the regulatory legal framework for joining the World Trade Organization, and successfully carrying out economic reforms.
