On July 23, 2026, in Malé, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Maldives (with residence in New Delhi) Sh. Geldynazarov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives Iruthisham Adam. The parties discussed promising areas for developing bilateral cooperation across political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, the sides emphasized the significant potential for collaboration in the transport, communications, and tourism sectors. Particular attention was paid to the importance of effective partnership within the framework of major international organizations.

Following the meeting, the diplomats agreed to maintain regular contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries to further strengthen mutually beneficial ties.
