On July 29, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Romania Annamammet Annayev held an official meeting with President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania Mihai Daraban to discuss key vectors of economic partnership, focusing on the energy sector and direct port cooperation.

During the talks the head of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce expressed interest in reviving the AGRI (Azerbaijan–Georgia–Romania Interconnector) Caspian hydrocarbon transit project, which could provide Turkmen natural gas with direct access to the European market. According to his assessment, utilizing the infrastructure of the ports of Turkmenbashi and Constanța in conjunction with the logistics capabilities of Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as the European BRUA gas pipeline, would create a reliable route for energy supplies from the Caspian region to Europe.

For his part, the diplomat presented Turkmenistan's economic potential, highlighting the country's steady GDP growth and its leading global position in proven natural gas reserves. The Ambassador emphasized that establishing a regional distribution center for Turkmen products at the port of Constanța, alongside the development of port logistics, would lay a solid foundation for long-term trade and investment cooperation between two countries.
