The President of Turkmenistan attends the informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan

On July 31st, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic to attend the informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Early in the morning, Arkadagly Hero-Serdar arrived at Ashgabat International Airport, from where he departed for the Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyzstan. At the air harbor, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was seen off by official dignitaries.

A short time later, the presidential aircraft landed at Issyk-Kul International Airport.

At the air harbor, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by Adylbek Kasymaliev, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic – Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and members of the official delegation of our country.

Music and dance performances by cultural and art masters of Kyrgyzstan took place here to mark the arrival of the distinguished Turkmen guest, standing as a vivid testament to the unbreakable bonds of friendship and brotherhood.

From the airport, Arkadagly Hero-Serdar’s motorcade proceeded to the Summit venue—the Congress Center of the State Residence of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

At the Congress Center, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was cordially greeted by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

Following the official joint photograph ceremony of the heads of the participating states, the informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan took place.

Warmly welcoming the Summit participants, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov expressed his gratitude to everyone for accepting the invitation to visit Kyrgyzstan. Noting also that Turkmenistan holds the chairmanship of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in the current year, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic highly praised Turkmenistan's activities in this direction, expressing appreciation to the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the invitation to the Consultative Meeting to be held in «Awaza».

Speaking at the Summit, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, taking the opportunity, also expressed his gratitude to the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for Turkmenistan's accession to the Treaty on Friendship, Good-Neighborliness, and Cooperation for the Development of Central Asia in the 21st Century.

At the beginning of his speech, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed sincere gratitude to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov for the hospitality extended and the high level of organization of the current meeting. Taking the occasion, he conveyed warm greetings and wishes for successful, fruitful work to the Summit participants on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The Head of State also congratulated the Kyrgyz side on the opening of wonderful new facilities on the shore of Issyk-Kul, expressing confidence that this modern infrastructure will not only adorn the lake's coastline but also serve as a powerful impetus for developing the tourism potential of the entire region.

Greeting the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that at last year's Tashkent Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, a unanimous decision was made regarding Azerbaijan's full participation in this format. In this regard, Arkadagly Hero-Serdar once again congratulated the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and, in his person, the people of Azerbaijan on this event.

Continuing his speech, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed conviction that the new six-party mechanism of interstate interaction will contribute to an even closer rapprochement of our peoples and countries, the strengthening of fraternal bonds, and will impart additional momentum and perspective to cooperation utilizing the increased joint potential.

As noted, on October 8, 2026, the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan is scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan, in the National Tourist Zone «Awaza».

Our country approaches this significant event with full responsibility, doing everything necessary to ensure that the upcoming Summit is held as productively as possible, at a high substantive and organizational level, emphasized the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

In this context, Arkadagly Hero-Serdar reported that Turkmenistan had prepared and sent to the participating states a draft agenda for the meeting, which includes five main areas. In particular, these are: exchange of views on pressing regional and international issues of peace, stability, and security; further strengthening of the political and diplomatic interaction of the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan; deepening of trade and economic partnership, expanding cooperation in the energy sector, developing sustainable transport and logistics corridors; joint measures for environmental protection and adaptation to climate change, rational use of the water resources of the Amyderýa and Syrderýa rivers, coordination of efforts in the restoration of the Aral Sea; development of cultural, educational, and scientific ties, expanding student and youth exchanges.

Noting that Turkmenistan proceeds from the position that all proposed topics hold high relevance and importance for our states, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that during the preparation and holding of the Summit in «Awaza», a number of international forums and cultural events will take place.

Expressing confidence that, as before, the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan will approach the organization and conduct of such international meetings with interest and responsibility, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov once again expressed his gratitude to all heads of state for their constructive attitude toward cooperation.

The speech of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was listened to with deep attention.

Upon completion of the speeches, the signing of the «Cholpon-Ata Declaration on the Outcomes of the Informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan» took place.

In the Declaration, the heads of state emphasize that strengthening regional cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan meets the fundamental interests of their peoples and contributes to ensuring stability and prosperity in the region, while also reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, mutual respect, and trust.

At the conclusion of the Summit, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, together with the heads of friendly states, took part in the opening ceremony of the «Baku» Hotel in the village of Kara-Oy, Issyk-Kul Region.

During the celebration, the distinguished guests toured the conditions and amenities created in the new hotel complex.

In this regard, it is worth noting the steady development dynamics of the tourism industry in Turkmenistan. The National Tourist Zone «Awaza» on the ecologically clean coast of the Caspian Sea possesses high-class resort infrastructure.

Upon concluding the working visit program to the Kyrgyz Republic, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived at Issyk-Kul International Airport to depart for the Homeland. Here, the Head of State was seen off by Adylbek Kasymaliyev, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic – Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and members of the official delegation of our country.

Having completed the flight to Ashgabat, the presidential airliner landed at the capital's International Airport, where Arkadagly Hero-Serdar was met by official dignitaries.

Thus, the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan clearly demonstrates that neutral Turkmenistan, under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero-Serdar and relying on the far-sighted creative initiatives of Hero-Arkadag, makes a weighty contribution to strengthening peace, stability, and prosperity in Central Asia and adjacent regions.
