Turkmenistan Sums Up Cultural Sector Performance for January–July 2026

At a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, held via digital system on August 1, Deputy Chairwoman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bahar Seyidova reported on the results of the activities of the sector under her purview for January–July of this year.

It was reported that during this period, various cultural events and celebrations were held in connection with the declaration of 2026 as "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses" and the 35th anniversary of the Homeland's independence.

In addition, excursions to historical and cultural monuments were organized, along with meetings with archaeologists and field seminars. Cultural services were provided at theaters, state circuses, cinemas and film-concert centers in the capital, as well as at libraries, museums, and complexes of historical and cultural monuments.

Turkmen specialists made official trips to foreign countries and took part in international events. As part of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's state visit to Georgia, Days of Turkmen Culture were successfully held in the city of Tbilisi, and Memorandums of Understanding on cultural cooperation were signed.

In addition, young poets from our country took part in the 2nd International Festival of Young Poets of the Turkic World, held in the Republic of Azerbaijan; masters of the arts participated in events held as part of the Friendship Day of the Republic of Korea; and the "Mukam" ensemble of violinists took part in events organized within the International Youth Orchestra Art Week in the city of Beijing. Representatives of Turkmenistan performed successfully at these creative forums and were awarded international honors.

The Deputy Prime Minister also reported on the work carried out by the Turkmen State Publishing Service, the Oguzkhan Turkmenfilm Association, and the mass media.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of organizing the activities of the cultural sector in line with the demands of the times, further developing international cooperation in this field, and carrying out corresponding work to popularize national cultural values around the world. The head of Turkmenistan instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to properly prepare and ensure a high level of organization for the festive events and celebrations to be held in front of the State Tribune on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Homeland's independence.
