A delegation from the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan participated in a consultative meeting on the Digital Corridor of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program, held in Islamabad.

According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the consultative meeting was attended by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications, Emma Fan, Director of the Asian Development Bank’s Office in Pakistan, as well as delegations from nine CAREC member countries, including high-ranking representatives of government agencies, telecommunications operators, regulatory bodies, international organizations, development partners, and technical experts.

During the discussions, representatives of Turkmenistan reaffirmed the country’s commitment to further developing regional economic cooperation, promoting digital transformation, and implementing joint initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity among the region’s countries.

The Turkmen side emphasized the importance of establishing a modern CAREC digital space as one of the key factors for sustainable economic growth, the expansion of cross-border digital services, and the strengthening of regional integration.
