On August 4, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, met with the newly elected Chairman of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), Mr. Yuji Hara.

During the meeting, Mr. Yuji Hara was congratulated on his election as Chairman of JATA, and prospects for the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan in the field of tourism were discussed.

The parties noted that the partnership between Turkmenistan and the Japan Association of Travel Agents began in 2013 with Turkmenistan's participation in the «JATA Travel Showcase 2013» international tourism exhibition and has been successfully developing in recent years. The conference «Tourism Opportunities of Turkmenistan» held in Tokyo in 2014 and the international conference «Turkmenistan — Land of Friendship, Brotherhood, and Hospitality" held in 2025 within the framework of World Expo 2025 Osaka were highlighted as examples of productive interaction.

Special attention during the meeting was given to promoting direct air communication between the two countries and expanding cooperation between state institutions and travel companies.
