On August 4th, at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Atajan Movlamov met with the Secretary-General of the International Parliamentarians' Congress, Senator Ms. Sitara Ayaz.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues regarding the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the International Parliamentarians' Congress. In particular, special attention was paid to strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, expanding dialogue among parliamentarians of the region, and developing institutional cooperation between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Congress.
The sides explored opportunities for organizing international conferences, roundtables, and forums with the participation of parliamentarians from Central Asian states. It was noted that such events would serve as an effective platform for promoting parliamentary diplomacy and developing legislative expertise. In turn, Senator Sitara Ayaz highly praised Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a regular dialogue through joint initiatives aimed at promoting regional cooperation.
