A meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan with a delegation led by Muhammad Amir Maligi, a member of the International Coordination Department of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The meeting took place on August 20, 2026, during which the parties discussed opportunities for further developing bilateral cooperation in the field of information technology.
During the meeting, the parties noted that there are broad opportunities for expanding cooperation and implementing new joint initiatives in various areas. The guests were given detailed information about Turkmenistan's state policy in the field of information technology. It was noted that this policy is aimed at improving the population's standard of living through the introduction of advanced technologies and the complete digitalization of the economy, public administration, and the social sphere.
As part of the meeting, the guests were also informed about the events being held in honor of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's state independence under the slogan «Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan - homeland of purposeful heavenly horses». Special attention was drawn to the historical and socio-political significance of the upcoming session of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan, to be held in September.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue supporting each other's initiatives on the international stage, as well as to consistently develop friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
