On August 24, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Turkmenistan, Ms. Petra Dachtler, who presented her credentials to the head of state.
Expressing gratitude for the time allocated for the meeting, Ms. Petra Dachtler noted that it is a great honor for her to represent the FRG in Turkmenistan, which demonstrates significant achievements in various fields. Taking the opportunity, the newly appointed head of the German diplomatic mission in the country conveyed greetings from Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
Extending reciprocal greetings and best wishes to the leadership of the Federal Republic of Germany, the head of state congratulated Ms. Petra Dachtler on her appointment to the high diplomatic post and wished her success in her responsible work aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
As emphasized, Turkmenistan attaches special importance to expanding relations with the countries of the European Union. In this regard, Germany is one of the leading partners.
Turkmenistan consistently expands cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany on the basis of mutual respect, trust, equality, and consideration of each side's interests.
Our countries actively interact within the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN. In this context, mutual support for initiatives on the sidelines of the Community of Nations is exemplary.
Turkmenistan collaborates with Germany in strengthening international peace and security, sustainable development, environmental protection, combating climate change, rational use of natural resources, and achieving the SDGs.
In this regard, expanding partnership in the "Central Asia–Germany" format acquires special significance, which Turkmenistan considers an important mechanism for discussing regional development issues, strengthening economic ties, enhancing transport connectivity, and promoting joint initiatives.
Special attention is also paid to boosting trade and economic relations. In this context, the role of the Turkmen-German Working Group on Trade and Economic Cooperation was emphasized as a key tool for deepening economic interaction, along with the activities of the German Eastern Business Association.
Turkmen-German cooperation in the healthcare sector serves as an exemplary model of constructive partnership over many years, maintaining regular contact with German experts to exchange experience with Turkmen physicians, improve their qualifications, and study best European medical practices.
Great importance is also attached to cultural and humanitarian dialogue: interaction in this area is an important factor in strengthening interstate relations, promoting the rapprochement of the two friendly nations.
In this regard, special attention was noted regarding cooperation in education, particularly in training qualified personnel and exchanging modern knowledge and experience.
In conclusion, the diplomat once again expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the time spared for the meeting and assured that she would make every effort to expand traditionally friendly relations and step up German-Turkmen cooperation across all areas, serving the interests of both states and their peoples.
