On August 27, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Turkmenistan, Petra Dachtler. The Ambassador presented copies of her credentials to the Turkmen side.

The Head of the Foreign Ministry congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment to the high post and wished her success in fulfilling her diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key aspects of Turkmen-German relations in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian fields.

It was particularly highlighted that high-level contacts provide the main impetus for the development of interstate relations.

The meeting emphasized the effectiveness of partnership between the two countries within the frameworks of the United Nations and the European Union, as well as in the Central Asia – Germany format.

The diplomats noted the fruitful nature of long-standing trade and economic ties. In this context, the active work of the German Eastern Business Association (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft) was highlighted.

The sides also discussed issues regarding the development of cooperation in culture, healthcare, and education.
