The World Championship among Akhal-Teke horses and the International Beauty Contest continue at the modern “Pilbergen” equestrian sports complex in Kronenberg, the Netherlands. One of Europe’s largest equestrian centres is hosting participants and guests from 25 countries around the world, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This was reported by the International News Centre of Turkmenistan.

More than 100 horses from Europe were brought to participate in the prestigious competition. Among them are 30 high-class Akhal-Teke horses from Turkmenistan. During the first stage of the contest, young horses aged from one to four years compete, while horses older than four years will later compete for the honorary title of absolute world champion.

The competition programme includes an exhibition of Akhal-Teke horses, dressage performances and show jumping events. The judges evaluate the harmony of the horses’ body structure, the grace and beauty of their movements, as well as their golden-coloured coats, in order to determine the most beautiful Akhal-Teke horse in the world.

Special attention during the event is given to the traditional decoration of the horses. Silver ornaments, saddle cloths and “alaja” protective elements handmade by Turkmen craftsmen reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people and centuries-old equestrian traditions.

Turkmen horses have successfully performed at the international competition, winning a total of six prize places so far. Among two-year-old mares, Jeren Gozli took first place, while Ak Monjuk won second place. Among two-year-old stallions, Meledag was named champion.

Among three-year-old mares, Al Yanak won the bronze medal. In the same age category among stallions, Güneş became champion, while Gözbaş took second place. Thus, the number of awards won by Turkmen Akhal-Teke horses at the international competition reached six.

The international beauty contest, held at the “Maya Delorez” arena of the “Pilbergen” equestrian sports complex, is still continuing. Judges continue to select the leading horses by assessing their natural beauty, purity of breed, harmonious physique and traditional decorations.

The international competition remains in the focus of attention of experts, representatives of the equestrian industry and horse enthusiasts from different countries. The event once again highlights the unique beauty of Akhal-Teke horses, their rich cultural heritage and their global significance.
