From September 7 to 11, a certificate programme "Cooperation in the Higher Education System of the Turkic World" is being held in Ankara, aimed at developing cooperation, exchanging best practices and strengthening ties between educational and academic institutions. The event is attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Hungary.

The Turkmen side is represented in the programme by staff of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as the International University of Humanities and Development.

On September 7, the official opening ceremony of the programme took place.

During the ceremony, participants were introduced to the main areas of YTB's activities, the goals and objectives of the certificate programme, as well as opportunities for further expanding international cooperation in the higher education system. Detailed information was presented on joint scholarship programmes implemented by YTB, academic exchanges and prospects for developing cooperation between higher education institutions.

The work of the first day of the programme continued within the module "Higher Education Policy and Strategies in Turkey and the World." Participants discussed the current structure and development directions of Turkey's higher education system, the main trends in the development of higher education worldwide, the role of higher education institutions in shaping cultural influence and international prestige, as well as issues of strengthening humanitarian ties. Presentations on these topics were given by Professor Şefika Şule Erçetin and Professor Zakir Avşar.

The development of international cooperation in education, the study of advanced world experience and its implementation in the national education system are among the priority areas of state policy of Turkmenistan. The country pays special attention to expanding the international ties of national higher education institutions, training highly qualified specialists, as well as strengthening scientific and educational relations with foreign partners.

The participation of Turkmenistan's representatives in this international programme creates opportunities for studying modern approaches in the higher education system, becoming acquainted with advanced foreign experience, expanding professional ties and exchanging experience with representatives of foreign educational and academic institutions. The holding of such international events, as noted, contributes to the development of direct ties between the higher education institutions of the participating countries, the implementation of joint educational projects and initiatives, the expansion of academic mobility, as well as elevating cooperation in the field of education and humanitarian affairs to a new level.
