On September 6, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar Myratgeldi Seyitmammedov held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth of Qatar Yasser bin Abdullah Al Jamal.

During the meeting, the Ambassador informed his counterpart about the declaration of 2026 in Turkmenistan as the year of "Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan — the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses" as well as about the high-level events being held in the country on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of state independence.

The parties also discussed opportunities for developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and Qatar in the field of youth policy and sports.
