Work continues to improve the legislative framework of Turkmenistan

Honourable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in a digital format on September 11. Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova presented information on the ongoing work to improve the national legislation. It was noted that a number of important draft laws are currently being prepared by working groups established within the Mejlis. This was reported by the electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

Among them are the draft Laws of Turkmenistan “On State Registration of Rights to Immovable Property” and “On State Protection of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeds in Turkmenistan”. Work is also underway to introduce modern amendments and additions to existing legislative acts, including the laws “On Lease”, “On Joint-Stock Companies”, “On Publishing Activities” and “On Licensing Certain Types of Activities”.

The Chairwoman of the Mejlis also informed about the activities being carried out in preparation for the upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. In addition, it was noted that representatives of the national parliament had made working visits to Samarkand, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in order to exchange experience in the field of legislative work.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of consistently continuing efforts to strengthen the country’s legal framework, modernize national legislation and improve the effectiveness of legislative activities.
