International Women's Dialogue "The Role of Women in Maintaining Peace and Achieving Sustainable Development" Held in Awaza National Tourist Zone

On October 7, the International Women's Dialogue "The Role of Women in Maintaining Peace and Achieving Sustainable Development" began its work in the Awaza National Tourist Zone. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."

The large-scale event is attended by heads and representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, public organizations of our country, the parliaments of CIS states, the Republic of Türkiye, and specialized UN agencies, as well as the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In the current global situation, the role of women is of paramount importance in ensuring peace and social stability and in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Women's capabilities, grounded in peacefulness, a creative approach, and deep responsibility for the future of generations, serve as a powerful driving force of positive change in all spheres of public life.

International experience confirms that women's active participation in peacemaking, conflict prevention, and strategic decision-making directly contributes to strengthening harmony in society. Implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions on the "Women, Peace and Security" agenda has become one of the key indicators of the national policy of many states seeking long-term stability.

In Turkmenistan, ensuring gender equality, comprehensive support for women, and protection of their legal rights are defined as priority tasks of state policy. Our country, consistently demonstrating its commitment to the fundamental principles of the UN, is incorporating international standards into national legislation and the work of state bodies.
