International conference on healthcare and sustainable development held in Avaza

The second international conference titled "Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goals" was held at the "Avaza" Congress Center. The prestigious forum, organized within the framework of the "Year of Healthcare" in the CIS, was attended by leaders and experts from the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, relevant ministries, parliaments of CIS countries, specialized UN bodies, and other international organizations. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The conference emphasized that ensuring universal access to healthcare services is a key condition for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals for the period up to 2030. Speaking guests and delegates highly appreciated the "Saglyk" (Health) State Program implemented in Turkmenistan, preventive medicine, the modern medical infrastructure built in the country, as well as the noble work carried out by the children's charitable foundation.

During the thematic sessions of the forum, strategic issues such as primary health care and system digitalization, access to medicines and legislative quality assurance, as well as the sustainability of healthcare system financing, were widely discussed.

Following the forum, effective recommendations and proposals were developed aimed at improving the healthcare system across the CIS space and internationally, deepening inter-parliamentary dialogue, and jointly implementing the sustainable development goals.
