On October 19, a meeting took place in Samarkand (Republic of Uzbekistan) between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Secretary of State of the United States of America Marco Rubio.

The heads of the foreign policy agencies of the two countries positively assessed the parties' efforts to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. In this context, it was noted that the «С5+1» format summit of heads of state, held in Washington in November 2025, served as an important milestone in consolidating joint efforts.

The parties outlined a schedule for upcoming significant meetings and political consultations designed to give a new impetus to the Turkmen-American partnership.

The talks were also attended by the Special Representative of the US President for South and Central Asia, Ambassador Sergio Gor.
