Ashgabat, October 21 — Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. On October 20, regular political consultations were held in Ashgabat between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar. The Turkmen delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov, while the Qatari delegation was headed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi. During the consultations, the sides engaged in a detailed exchange of views on a wide range of bilateral cooperation topics. The diplomats highlighted the vital importance of organizing mutual visits at the highest and high levels to elevate the political and diplomatic dialogue to a new stage. The meeting also addressed opportunities to expand the legal framework of bilateral relations and matters of mutual support within international organizations, primarily the United Nations. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to constructive cooperation in promoting regional and global stability.

Enhancing trade and economic partnership was a key topic of discussion. The participants agreed to advance investment cooperation, implement joint projects, and hold business forums and roundtables featuring business community representatives from both nations. Energy, digital technologies, and tourism were identified as promising sectors, with special emphasis placed on the role of the Joint Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Additionally, expanding cultural and humanitarian ties held a prominent place on the agenda. The sides explored holding mutual Days of Culture, exchanging experience in education and sports, and organizing joint events. Following the consultations, both parties reaffirmed their strong interest in the steady development of multifaceted Turkmen-Qatari cooperation.
