The 31st International Conference and Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2026" (OGT-2026) is set to commence in Ashgabat. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a greeting message to the participants and guests of this major event. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The President noted that the upcoming forum will play a vital role in determining key priorities for the development of the nation's fuel and energy sector, stepping up mutually beneficial cooperation, and introducing innovative technologies and projects to the oil and gas industry.
In this context, it was emphasized that for Turkmenistan, which possesses immense hydrocarbon reserves, diversifying export routes, developing a multi-option pipeline infrastructure, and strengthening logistics capabilities remain at the core of its energy strategy. The "Galkynysh" gas field, holding a leading position globally in reserves, serves as the primary base for supplying natural gas to international markets. Notably, the launch of the fourth phase of industrial development at the field in April this year represented a historic milestone in expanding export capacity.
Significant progress was also highlighted regarding the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, designed to bolster regional energy security and sustainable development, with work on the Serhetabat–Herat section currently in its final stage. Furthermore, the successful continuation of 30 years of partnership with international energy companies in developing offshore blocks in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea was underscored.
The message further noted that in line with the adopted "National Strategy for the Industrial Development of Turkmenistan for 2030–2045," processing hydrocarbons to manufacture eco-friendly, high-quality products remains a priority task. Turkmenistan stands ready to broaden international cooperation on environmental protection and emissions reduction, while continuing to create optimal conditions for foreign investors.
