On October 21st, a presentation of the book by the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, entitled «Neutrality of Turkmenistan: A Bright Path to Peace and Trust», published in the Azerbaijani language, was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The release of this edition has become a significant event, testifying to the progressive character of the traditionally friendly interstate dialogue.
The event was attended by heads and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the diplomatic corps accredited in our country, as well as members of the scientific and academic communities.
During the presentation, speakers highlighted the consistency of the foreign policy course of our independent neutral Motherland, aimed at ensuring universal peace and promoting the principles of good-neighborliness, friendship, and fraternity. As the only state in the world whose status of permanent neutrality has been recognized three times by the United Nations General Assembly, Turkmenistan comes forward on the international arena with constructive initiatives for the well-being of all humanity. The essence and objectives of our country’s neutral policy are detailed in the remarkable book of the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which Azerbaijani readers can now read in their native language.
In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan H. Gozalov emphasized the special importance of this presentation in revealing the role of Turkmen neutrality in strengthening peace, mutual understanding, and trust, as well as in introducing President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's deeply insightful work to the reading audience of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that the book "Neutrality of Turkmenistan: A Bright Path to Peace and Trust" serves as a valuable guide for a broader understanding of the significance of the legal status of neutrality, which is rooted in the humanistic principles of the Turkmen people, historically committed to the ideals of peace and creation. The work covers the fundamental criteria of Turkmenistan’s neutrality as the foundation of state policy and the practical realization of its potential in addressing pressing issues on the regional and global agendas.
Special attention at the presentation was paid to the development of Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations, which rely on the historical, cultural, and spiritual closeness of the two nations.
In this context, it was emphasized that as a result of consistent efforts by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, interstate dialogue in recent years has reached qualitatively new heights, acquiring the character of a strategic partnership. Vivid proof of this includes mutual high-level visits and the agreements reached based on their outcomes.
In this regard, the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in important events recently held in the National Tourist Zone «Awaza» on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea and in Baku, respectively, was highlighted.
Furthermore, the importance of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries was underscored. A testament to its enhancement is the international art exhibition MAMA «Mother Nature», which opened on October 20th in Ashgabat, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan jointly with the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Thus, the publication of the book «Neutrality of Turkmenistan: A Bright Path to Peace and Trust» in the Azerbaijani language will give new momentum to the further development of fruitful interstate dialogue, making an effective contribution to expanding bilateral cultural and humanitarian exchanges and strengthening fraternal ties between our peoples.
