On November 2, a ceremonial meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to mark the awarding of the title “Honorary Doctor in International Relations” to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov by Hacettepe University of the Republic of Türkiye, as well as the presentation of the “Strategic Friendship” badge by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by heads of state bodies, ministries and sectoral agencies, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Turkmenistan, professors, lecturers, and students.

The meeting highlighted the consistent development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Türkiye in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and educational spheres. Particular attention was paid to Turkmenistan’s foreign policy initiatives aimed at strengthening international peace, security, and mutual trust, as well as expanding relations with Turkic states.

The speakers emphasized that the honorary title and award presented to the President of Turkmenistan represent international recognition of his significant contribution to the development of international cooperation, strengthening global peace and security, and the successful implementation of the country’s foreign policy based on the principles of permanent neutrality.

In his speech, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Turkmenistan Şener Cebeci highlighted the importance of the historical and cultural ties that unite the peoples of the two countries. Special attention was also given to the newly opened Park of Culture of Turkic States as a symbol of friendship between brotherly nations.

Participants noted that the current level of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation creates new opportunities for implementing joint projects, expanding relations between government institutions and business communities, and further strengthening strategic partnership.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, an Address to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was adopted, expressing sincere congratulations and appreciation on the occasion of the honorary degree awarded by Hacettepe University and the presentation of the “Strategic Friendship” badge by DEİK.
